Dr. Daniela Franca Joffe is the Cape Town–based postdoctoral researcher for the ECHOES project. Her research falls within Work Package 5 (Artists and Citizens).
Daniela has undergraduate and master’s degrees in literature from Harvard and Oxford universities, respectively, and a PhD in English from the University of Cape Town, where she taught undergraduate writing and literature courses and edited a transdisciplinary journal of African studies. Her doctoral dissertation focused on the relationship between contemporary literary output and the histories of feminism, multiculturalism, and identity politics in the United States. In addition to her current research work, Daniela runs a thriving language-editing agency and is an avid flamenco and contemporary dancer.
