Ana Botas (Head of Inventory and Collection Management) graduated in Anthropology (ISCTE, University Institute of Lisbon) and has a Masters in Museology (Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, New University of Lisbon), focusing on the theme of updating the museological inventory and documentation of collections.

She works in the National Museum of Ethnology since 2003, where she is currently the Head of Inventory and Collection Management. Moreover, she collaborates with the programming and implementation of the educational offer of the Museum.

She grew up in a municipality on the outskirts of Lisbon characterized by its great cultural diversity, with a predominance of Afro-descendant communities. She began her professional activity at the Moinho da Juventude Cultural Association in the Cova da Moura neighborhood, with Afro-descendant youth.
